Please be advised that this wifi system utilizes an open ssid with no encryption.
Connect to the CSIR Guest Open SSID to gain guest access to CSIR network.
Open a web browser, ensure that the proxy server is disabled and proceed to open a website to generate external internet traffic ie. http://www.google.com (https:// sites will not work reliably)
This will open the Captiveportal which will allow you to register your devices as a guest and provide authorization to use CSIR internet resources.
CSIR Employees may use their Groupwise mail network credentials on this page to gain guest access for 1 day.
Visitors must click on the "Guest Registration" link to access the guest registration portal.
Provide all required information to complete the registration process.
Guests may receive their authorization in two ways: SMS or Email link - select the appropriate button.
Please read the Acceptable Use Policy.
SMS registration - you will receive a sms on the handset specified in approximately 2 minutes. Type in the pin number you received to activate 1 days guest access.
Email registration - you will receive an email link in the mailbox specified as well as 10 minutes guest access to allow you to retrieve this email message. Click the link provided to activate 1 days guest access.
You will receive this page during the access activation stage.
If the page give and error, please open a web browser and open any external website to check your access - you should have received a 10.100.x.x ip address.
