Regardless of the hardware used for connecting to the CSIR Wireless SSID, you need create the wireless profile.  This is a once-off action.


Dell with Intel

  • Ensure the Wi-Fi card is on. (Check the switch)
  • Right click on the Network tray icon and select Open network and sharing centre.
  • Select Manage wireless networks (Top left).
  • Click Add -> Manually create a network profile.
  • Enter the following information:

Click Next to continue.

 

Click "Change connection settings" buttons to configure.

 

Select the "Security" tab to continue.

 

  • Click on settings and supply the following: (Click on the first certificate and start Typing entrust.)
  • You MUST select the Entrust.net Root Certification Authority & the Entrust.net Certification Authority (2048) certificates. Click on any certificate in the "select certificate" windows and type "ent" to jump to the first Entrust entry.

 

  • Click on Configure and untick Automatic:

Click OK, OK, OK, Close to finalize the wireless network profile.

 

Click on the Network icon and select the CSIR Wireless SSID to connect.

Provide your Novell Groupwise network credentials.

 

Remember to configure your proxy server in your web browser.
